Robert E. Bush started Bayview Building Materials in South Bend, WA in 1952 with his partner Vic Druzianich. They increased their stores to eight, including the Elma location in 1962.
After many enjoyable years sold their locations including the Elma store that Bob's son Richard Bush purchased in 1984 where he continued their tradition of having lumber and hardware stores for our communities.

Rick Bush was born in Raymond, WA and moved to Elma in 1960. After attending Elma High School and graduating in 1970, he spent four years at Gonzaga University.
He worked for Herr Lumber in Seattle, Hawaii Northwest and Bayview West Building Materials in Hawaii (currently Island Homes) before settling back in Elma in September 1980. Rick and his wife
Renee were married on October 2, 1999 and now have Madison Olivia. |
Rick Jensen and Jim DePretto took over operation of Bayview on November 1, 2003, then on April 1, 2007 the stock purchase from Rick Bush was completed. Rick and Jim wish to continue on with the traditions and community mindedness that the company was built on.
